**Enright Completes Remarkable Journey, Earns Guardians Call-Up After Cancer Battle**
**CLEVELAND, OH –** Relief pitcher Nic Enright’s perseverance and dedication to baseball has paid off, as the Cleveland Guardians have called him up from Triple-A Columbus to bolster their bullpen.
Enright’s journey to the major leagues has been anything but conventional. After being selected by the Miami Marlins in the 2022 Rule 5 Draft, he received a diagnosis of Stage II nodular lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin lymphoma. The diagnosis threw his future into doubt, but the reliever found the strength to fight, returning to the Guardians in June 2023.
After recovering from a lat strain, Enright pitched exceptionally in Triple-A, posting a 1.06 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 17 innings. Guardians management was impressed and added him to the 40-man roster.
The Guardians are adding Enright to the active roster to replace Hunter Gaddis, who is heading to the bereavement list after the death of a family member.
Enright will join the Guardians as they face the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. His parents will be in attendance, as they visited him in Columbus this weekend and he was able to share the news of his promotion in person.
Enright’s call-up is an inspirational story of resilience and a testament to his unwavering commitment to the game.
