**Man Arrested for Murder of Marriage Broker in Mangaluru Following Marital Dispute**

**MANGALURU, May 23, 2025** – A 30-year-old man, identified as Mustafa, has been arrested for the murder of 50-year-old Suleman, a marriage broker, in Valachil, within the Mangaluru Rural police station limits. The incident occurred on the night of May 22nd, according to police reports.

Police investigations reveal that Suleman had facilitated the marriage between Mustafa and his relative, Shahneez, approximately eight months prior. However, the marriage encountered difficulties, leading Shahneez to return to her parents’ home two months ago. This separation ignited frequent arguments between Mustafa and Suleman.

On the evening of the incident, Mustafa reportedly called and verbally abused Suleman. In response, Suleman, accompanied by his two sons, Riyab and Siyab, went to Mustafa’s residence. While his sons waited outside, Suleman entered the house to discuss the matter. After a brief conversation, Suleman signaled to his sons that the discussion was unproductive and that they should leave.

As they were departing around 9:30 PM, Mustafa allegedly emerged from his house, shouting at Suleman in Beary language before stabbing him in the neck. When Suleman collapsed, Mustafa then allegedly attacked his sons, stabbing Siyab in the chest and Riyab in the forearm.

Neighbors swiftly transported the injured trio to a nearby hospital. Suleman was pronounced dead upon arrival, while Siyab and Riyab are currently receiving treatment for their injuries.

The Mangaluru Rural police have registered a case against Mustafa under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including murder and attempted murder. He remains in police custody pending further investigation.
