Thu May 22 18:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Duke Blue Devils Eye Top Recruit Dame Sarr to Fill Final Four Roster Gaps
**Durham, NC** – Following a successful Final Four run in the 2024-25 season, the Duke Blue Devils are actively reloading their roster after losing four of their five starters. Head Coach Jon Scheyer is targeting top talent, and the program is currently hosting five-star recruit Dame Sarr for an official visit, according to On3 Sports’ Joe Tipton.
Sarr, a 6-foot-7 guard from Italy, is one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2025 class. He’s drawing interest from elite programs like Oregon and Kansas, having already visited the Jayhawks on May 7th. Illinois also extended an offer back in January.
The young guard’s basketball journey includes a stint with FC Barcelona’s roster, where he showcased his scoring ability with a standout 21-point performance in March. However, his time with the team ended abruptly in April after attending the Nike Hoop Summit without Barcelona’s permission, leading to a breach of contract.
Despite this setback, Sarr’s reputation remains strong, bolstered by his experience representing Italy in international youth tournaments, including the 2024 U18 EuroBasket.
Duke is looking to fill significant voids left by the departures of key players like Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, Tyrese Proctor, and Khaman Maluach. While projected starters for the 2025-26 season include Caleb Foster, Isaiah Evans, Cameron Boozer, and Patrick Ngongba II, the addition of Sarr would provide an immediate boost.
If Sarr commits to Duke, he is expected to compete for a starting role and solidify the Blue Devils’ roster, allowing them to maintain their competitive edge in college basketball. His potential arrival is generating considerable excitement in Durham as Duke aims to remain a national powerhouse.
