Fri May 23 10:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Collins Roars to Victory, Then Confronts Cameraman in Strasbourg

**Strasbourg, France -** Danielle Collins powered past Emma Raducanu in a hard-fought three-set match (4-6, 6-1, 6-3) at the Internationaux de Strasbourg on Wednesday. Collins, known as “Danimal” for her fierce on-court play, displayed her trademark intensity, ultimately overcoming a resilient Raducanu.

However, the match wasn’t just about tennis. A viral video circulating on social media shows Collins confronting a television cameraman during a changeover. Collins felt the cameraman was invading her and Raducanu’s space, saying, “I need to get water. We’re on a changeover. You don’t need to be that close to me, and you don’t need to be on top of Emma. It’s like wildly inappropriate. It’s not that difficult to give space.”

The incident sparked debate online, with many tennis fans siding with the cameraman, arguing he was simply doing his job for the Tennis Channel broadcast. Others supported Collins’ stance on personal space.

Collins addressed the situation after the match, explaining her assertive nature, “To be good at anything, self-expression is really important. There’s not too many successful people in the world that feel like they can’t be themselves…I’m not meek and mild. I’m not someone that is just kind of going through life quietly. I want to succeed, and I know what it takes to succeed.”

Raducanu, who called a medical timeout in the second set for a back injury, will now focus on recovery ahead of the upcoming Roland Garros tournament. The injury adds another layer of concern for the young Brit as she prepares for the Grand Slam.

With the win, Collins advances to the quarterfinal, where she is likely to face Jessica Pegula. Raducanu’s record now stands at 12-10 for the season.
