Fri May 23 10:30:00 UTC 2025: **Collins Overcomes Raducanu in Strasbourg Thriller, Stands Up to Intrusive Cameraman**

**Strasbourg, France** – Danielle Collins battled her way to a hard-fought victory over Emma Raducanu at the Internationaux de Strasbourg, winning 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 in a match that lasted two hours and 21 minutes. The American player also stood up for both herself and her opponent, intervening with a cameraman she felt was being too intrusive during a changeover.

Raducanu, fresh off a strong showing in Rome, started strong, taking the first set. However, Collins, known for her aggressive playing style, turned the tide in the second, dominating the set and carrying the momentum into the third. While Raducanu leveled the decider at 3-3, Collins surged ahead, breaking back and ultimately securing the win.

Adding another layer to the drama, Collins confronted a cameraman who she felt was positioned too close to both players during a changeover. “You don’t need to be that close to me and you don’t need to be on top of Emma,” she stated, calling the behavior “wildly inappropriate.” Seemingly fueled by the incident, Collins finished the match strong, securing the final three games.

“I knew playing Emma, I would have to play my aggressive game style,” Collins said after the match. “She played really well and gave me some challenges but I just kept going after it.”

Collins, who is currently playing what she initially planned to be her final year on tour, has been in impressive form, including a notable victory over Iga Swiatek in Rome. She is now set to face Anna Kalinskaya in the quarterfinals, after Kalinskaya’s upset win over top seed Jessica Pegula. Collins also expressed the importance of being oneself on the court and competing with energy, stating, “I’m not meek and mild. I’m not someone that is going through life quietly, and I want to succeed. I know what it takes to succeed.”
