**Canter Driver Arrested in Rajgopal Nagar for Alleged Homicide**
**Bengaluru, May 23, 2025** – A 24-year-old canter driver, identified as Vinay Kumar from Basavanakatte, has been arrested by the Rajgopal Nagar police in connection with the death of an autorickshaw driver, Rangaswamy. Kumar is charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Sunday night after Rangaswamy, allegedly intoxicated, began causing a disturbance in his neighborhood by shouting and verbally abusing passers-by. Vinay Kumar confronted Rangaswamy, urging him to stop. The confrontation escalated into a heated argument, during which Kumar allegedly pushed Rangaswamy. Rangaswamy fell, sustaining severe head injuries.
He was immediately transported to Victoria Hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following day. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
