Thu May 22 17:10:00 UTC 2025: **GTA 6 Fans Spot Character Redesign, Sparking Speculation About Likeness Claims**
Grand Theft Auto fans have noticed a significant change to the appearance of a non-player character (NPC) featured in both the original and recently released trailers for the highly anticipated GTA 6. The altered look has fueled speculation that Rockstar Games may be preemptively addressing potential legal issues regarding likeness rights.
The NPC, whose name is currently unknown, appears briefly in both trailers. While his outfit remains largely consistent, the redesign includes changes to his hair, facial hair, sunglasses, and the addition of a backwards cap.
This redesign comes after a TikTok user, Zoeepoppyy, claimed that the original NPC design was a direct likeness of himself. Zoeepoppyy publicly demanded compensation from Rockstar, implying a desire for financial remuneration.
While Rockstar has not officially addressed the redesign or the claims, some fans believe the changes are a direct response to Zoeepoppyy’s allegations. This wouldn’t be the first time Rockstar has faced such claims. The “Florida Joker” also claimed a character in the trailer looked like him and Lindsey Lohan previously sued the company over a GTA 5 character, though she ultimately lost the case.
The game’s release date has been pushed back to 2026, which fans note may be due to the company making improvements. It is not known whether the improvements are only graphical.
The alteration to the NPC’s appearance sparks debate within the GTA community. Some believe Rockstar is simply being cautious, while others argue that the company has a history of creating parodies of real people without legal repercussions.
