**Andhra Pradesh Opposition Accuses Ruling Government of Backtracking on Women’s Financial Aid Promise**
Visakhapatnam – May 20, 2025 – The Leader of the Opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, Botcha Satyanarayana, has accused the ruling TDP-led NDA government of failing to deliver on its pre-election promise to provide ₹1,500 monthly to women aged 18-59 under the ‘Aada bidda’ scheme.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Satyanarayana alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has indicated the scheme’s funds have been reallocated to the “P4 programme,” suggesting the government has no intention of fully implementing the promised financial assistance. He questioned the link between the “P4 programme” and the ‘Aada bidda’ scheme, which pledged ₹18,000 annually to approximately one crore beneficiaries.
Satyanarayana reminded the public of the “Super Six” promises made by Naidu and other NDA leaders before the election. He drew parallels to a previous TDP government’s unfulfilled promise to waive DWCRA loans, and also cited the non-implementation of the ‘Thalliki Vandanam’ scheme last year as further examples of broken pledges.
Adding to the political tensions, Satyanarayana also highlighted discord within the ruling coalition. He claimed differences among the alliance partners surfaced during the Deputy Mayor election in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), where the alliance corporators’ lack of attendance due to disagreements on the candidate led to the election’s postponement due to insufficient quorum.
