**Liberty Stuns No. 1 Seed Texas A&M in NCAA Softball Regional**

**Bryan-College Station, TX –** In a stunning upset, the Liberty Lady Flames defeated the top-seeded Texas A&M Aggies 8-5 on Saturday in the Bryan-College Station Regional of the 2025 NCAA Softball Tournament. The loss puts the Aggies, considered a favorite to contend for the national championship, on the brink of elimination.

Liberty (49-12) took down Texas A&M (46-9) thanks to a decisive five-run sixth inning. Senior outfielder KK Madrey led the charge, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs, including a two-run home run that extended the Lady Flames’ lead. Paige Doerr and Alyssa Henault each added two RBIs to Liberty’s offensive effort.

Texas A&M’s star pitcher, Emiley Kennedy, struggled, allowing 11 hits and eight earned runs. Despite striking out eight, Kennedy suffered her first loss since March 10.

Liberty is now one win away from their first-ever Super Regional appearance.

Texas A&M will face the winner of the Marist vs. Saint Francis game later Saturday night in an elimination game. To advance to the Super Regional, the Aggies must win that game and then defeat Liberty twice on Sunday.
