**Twins’ Pitching Dominance Fuels Historic 13-Game Winning Streak**
**MILWAUKEE** – The Minnesota Twins are riding a wave of unprecedented pitching excellence, propelling them to a remarkable 13-game winning streak, their longest since 1991. The team’s dominant pitching staff has recorded three consecutive shutouts, culminating in a 7-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday night.
The Twins’ pitching has been nothing short of historic, currently boasting a franchise-record 33 consecutive shutout innings, surpassing any stretch since the team’s relocation to Minnesota in 1961. This incredible run includes three straight shutout wins, a feat last accomplished by the Twins in July 2004.
Chris Paddack initiated the shutout streak with seven scoreless innings against Baltimore, followed by stellar six-inning performances from Joe Ryan and Pablo Lopez in Milwaukee. “You want to follow suit,” said Lopez, emphasizing the team’s contagious momentum. “We have such a good thing going with the pitching and the hitting.”
This winning streak marks the second-longest in Twins history, behind only the 15-game streak achieved during their 1991 World Series championship season. It also marks the second consecutive year the Twins have had a winning streak of at least 12 games, a feat not accomplished by any MLB team since Cleveland did it in 2016-17. The Golden State Warriors are the only other team from the major sports leagues to accomplish the same feat.
Despite injuries to key players like Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton, the Twins’ pitching has carried the team through a crucial stretch. Manager Rocco Baldelli acknowledged the team’s strong performance. “It’s been a pretty nice run the boys have been going on.”
The Twins’ starting pitchers have transformed from a shaky start to the season to a dominant force, posting an MLB-leading 2.46 ERA in their last 36 games. The bullpen has been equally impressive, allowing just one earned run in over 38 innings since May 6th.
“The most important thing is we’re pounding the zone with strikes,” said reliever Danny Coulombe.
This dominant pitching has helped the Twins overcome injuries and maintain their position in the competitive AL Central, currently sitting second behind the Detroit Tigers. The Twins hope to continue their dominance as they push for the playoffs.
