**Harper Reaches Milestone as Phillies Rally Past Pirates 8-4**

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Bryce Harper reached a significant career milestone Friday night, driving in his 1,000th and 1,001st RBIs as the Philadelphia Phillies rallied to defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-4 at Citizens Bank Park.

Harper, 32, joins an elite group of only 14 players in MLB history to achieve 1,000 RBIs, 1,000 runs, and 1,000 walks before turning 33. He now shares this distinction with baseball legends like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Mickey Mantle, with most enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

“Obviously, you always want more,” Harper said after the game. “There’s a lot of baseball ahead of me…It’s really, really cool to be part of that company, that history.”

Harper’s contributions were pivotal in the Phillies’ comeback victory. His bloop single in the fifth inning plated the game’s first run. A controversial checked swing in the seventh, which loaded the bases, ignited a four-run rally that gave the Phillies the lead. He then added an insurance run with a single in the eighth.

“That’s quite a group that he’s a part of,” said Phillies manager Rob Thomson. “It shows you how great of a hitter he’s been.”

Harper finished the night 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a walk, continuing a recent hot streak after a period of struggles. Despite the personal milestones, Harper remains focused on improvement. “I’m not where I want to be,” he admitted. “I’ve just got to keep grinding.”

The turning point of the game came in the seventh inning with the Phillies trailing 3-1. With runners on first and second, Harper checked his swing on a 3-2 slider, with the third-base umpire ruling no swing. The Pirates vehemently disagreed, leading to the ejection of manager Don Kelly. The call proved costly, as the Pirates pitcher struggled with his control, walking Kyle Schwarber and hitting Nick Castellanos to tie the game.

The Phillies capitalized, taking the lead with a bases-loaded walk to J.T. Realmuto and adding another run on a sacrifice fly. Harper’s eighth-inning single then sealed the victory.

“I thought we fought back,” Harper said. “I thought we did a great job.”
