Sun May 18 16:50:00 UTC 2025: **Scheffler Seizes Control at PGA Championship, Three-Shot Lead Heading into Final Round**

**Charlotte, NC** – World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler put on a dominant display Saturday at Quail Hollow, carding a third consecutive round in the 60s to seize a commanding three-shot lead heading into the final round of the 2025 PGA Championship. After a weather delay, Scheffler surged on the back nine, highlighted by an eagle and two birdies on the treacherous “Green Mile” (holes 16-18).

Scheffler finished the round by birdieing both 17 and 18, “It was an important time in the round. I wanted to end the round the right way. Nice to be able to take advantage of good shots.”

His closest challenger is Alex Noren, who fired a stellar 66 to move into solo second at 8-under par. J.T. Poston and Davis Riley are lurking a shot further back at 7-under, while Jon Rahm leads a group of players at 6-under. Bryson DeChambeau stumbled on the Green Mile, dropping three shots to finish at 5-under.

Scheffler will be looking to convert his eighth straight solo 54-hole lead on the PGA Tour, a feat that has become increasingly expected. The 2022 Masters champion and 2024 Masters Champion has proven difficult to catch when holding a lead.

Noren, playing in just his second tournament in six months due to injury, will be paired with Scheffler in the final group.

While the pressure will be on Scheffler, he remains focused. “More good golf…It’s going to take another good round,” Scheffler said.

The final round promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the PGA Championship, with Scheffler aiming to add another major title to his already impressive resume.
