BOSTON – Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals between the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics was filled with physicality, including a bizarre incident involving Josh Hart and Jaylen Brown that drew a one-word reaction from Hart’s wife, Shannon.
During the second half of Wednesday’s game at TD Garden, Brown appeared to grab Hart’s groin area while navigating around a pick. Shannon Hart posted a slow-motion video of the incident on X with the caption “Weird.”
The contact prompted a reaction from Hart, who seemed to alert the referee. Hart and Brown later engaged in a shoving match, resulting in both players receiving technical fouls with the score tied at 59-59 in the third quarter.
Earlier in the game, Hart suffered a bloody gash near his left eyebrow after being fouled by Celtics’ Luke Kornet. Hart received medical attention, changed his jersey, and returned to the court after getting stitches in the second half.
