**Dalit Girl, 14, Allegedly Raped by Three Youths in Uttar Pradesh**
Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh – May 17, 2025 – A 14-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and raped by three youths, one of whom is a minor, on Friday, May 16, 2025, while on her way to school in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, according to police reports.
The survivor, a Class X student, was reportedly lured into a car by the 15-year-old accused under the false pretense of being given a ride to school. Once inside, two other individuals, identified as Pradeep (18) and Saurabh (18), joined them. The girl was then taken to a room where she was reportedly tied up, gagged, and raped.
After regaining consciousness approximately an hour later, she found that her attackers had fled. She contacted family members, who alerted the authorities.
Based on the mother’s complaint, a case has been registered against the accused under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the POCSO Act, and the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The charges include voluntarily causing hurt, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace, gang rape, and attempt to commit culpable homicide.
Police have arrested Pradeep and Saurabh, sending them to judicial custody for 14 days. The minor suspect has been detained and placed in a juvenile home, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Akhand Pratap Singh.
Investigations revealed that one of the accused had previously contacted the girl via Instagram, attempting to arrange a meeting which she refused. The investigation is ongoing.
