Sat May 17 00:30:00 UTC 2025: **Belichick Reflects on College Coaching, Dismisses Girlfriend Ban Rumors in GMA Interview**
**NEW YORK, NY** – In a sit-down interview with Michael Strahan on Good Morning America Friday, North Carolina’s newly appointed head coach, Bill Belichick, discussed his transition to college football, his new book, and addressed the intense public scrutiny surrounding his relationship with Jordon Hudson.
Belichick, the six-time Super Bowl champion, emphasized the daily learning curve he faces since taking the UNC job last December, his first foray into collegiate head coaching. “I’ve learned so much being back in the college environment,” Belichick stated, citing recruiting, the collegiate game’s rules, hashmarks, strategy, and team-building as key areas of focus. He expressed enthusiasm for his players’ eagerness and drive, noting that he is able to coach the same as before and that his players are “hungry” and “want to be good”.
The interview also addressed the controversy surrounding his relationship with Jordon Hudson, denying recent reports that she was banned from UNC football facilities. Belichick defended her involvement in his business affairs, stating, “She’s been terrific through the whole process, and she’s been very helpful to me. She does the business things that don’t relate to North Carolina that come up in my life, so I can concentrate on football.” He further acknowledged her contribution to his new book, “The Art of Winning,” highlighting her role in managing business aspects and keeping the content balanced. When questioned about what she means to him, Belichick declined to elaborate, simply stating, “We have a good personal relationship, and I’m not talking about personal relationships.” When asked if he was happy, he replied, “Yeah.”
The relationship between the 73-year-old coach and the 24-year-old Hudson has garnered significant attention. Concerns were also raised after Hudson interrupted a CBS interview with Belichick last month.
To manage the increasing media attention, North Carolina recently hired veteran Chicago Bears public relations director Brandon Faber to assist Belichick. Faber accompanied Belichick to both the ACC spring meetings earlier this week and the GMA interview, signaling a proactive approach to managing Belichick’s public image as he navigates his new role at UNC. Belichick was on GMA to promote his new book, “The Art of Winning”.
