**Thousands Initially Affected, Hundreds Still Without Power After AEP Outage Hits Northeast Columbus**
COLUMBUS, OH – Approximately 1,400 central Ohioans are still without power Friday afternoon following an AEP power outage that impacted Columbus’ Northeast Side. According to AEP Ohio’s outage map, two separate outages began at 12:16 p.m., initially impacting 5,279 customers.
By 4 p.m., AEP crews had restored power to many, bringing the number of reported outages down to 1,412. The outages are centered in neighborhoods located on either side of Morse Road, east of Hamilton Road.
AEP Ohio, the primary power provider for Columbus and much of eastern and southern Ohio, is working to restore service to the remaining affected customers.
