**Two Fatal Accidents Claim Lives in Udupi District**
**Mangalore, Karnataka – May 14, 2025** – Two separate road accidents in the Udupi district of Karnataka claimed the lives of two elderly men on Tuesday, May 13th.
The first incident occurred near Amparu on the Amparu-Kundapura road. Koraga, 77, a resident of Kavraadi village, Kundapur taluk, was riding his motorcycle when he collided head-on with another motorcycle driven by Pavan. According to police reports, the accident took place around 11 a.m. while Koraga was returning from his son’s house in Nellikatte. Both Koraga and Pavan sustained injuries and were rushed to a private hospital in Kundapura. Koraga was later transferred to a hospital in Udupi, where he succumbed to his injuries around 1:30 p.m. The Shankarnarayana Police have registered a case under sections 281 and 106 of Bharatiya Nyana Sanhita (BNS).
In a separate incident, Ramesh, 81, a resident of Udupi, died after the scooter he was riding collided with a motorcycle near Berandottu Cross in Nitte village of Karkala taluk. Police reported that Ramesh lost control of his scooter, veering to the right side of the road and hitting an oncoming motorcycle driven by Shreyan Padival, also a resident of Udupi. Both Ramesh and Padival were taken to a private hospital in Karkala, where Ramesh was pronounced dead. The Karkala rural police have registered a case against the deceased, Ramesh, under sections 281, 125(a), and 106 of BNS.
Investigations into both accidents are ongoing.
