**Vrindavan, India** – Just a day after announcing his retirement from Test cricket, Indian cricketing legend Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma visited the spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj in Vrindavan to seek his blessings. The couple are known devotees of Maharaj and frequent visitors to the holy city.

Kohli’s retirement marks the end of a remarkable 14-year Test career. In 123 matches, he amassed 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85, including 30 centuries and 31 half-centuries. His highest score was 254 not out. This places him as India’s fourth-highest Test run-scorer of all time, behind only Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Sunil Gavaskar.

Kohli’s Test debut came in June 2011 against the West Indies. While his initial tour was underwhelming, he quickly rose to prominence, showcasing aggressive batting skills. His career truly took off with a century against Australia in Adelaide in 2012. Between 2016 and 2019, he enjoyed a phenomenal period, scoring 4,208 runs at an average of 66.79, including a record seven double centuries as captain.

While his performance dipped in the 2020s, a strong 2023 season saw a resurgence, with 671 runs in eight Tests. His retirement announcement comes as a significant moment in Indian cricket history, ending a career filled with both triumphs and challenges.
