Tue May 13 17:10:00 IST 2025: **Detroit Braces for Week of On-Again, Off-Again Showers and a Possible Thunderstorm Threat**
**DETROIT (May 13, 2025) -** Metro Detroiters should prepare for a week of variable weather conditions, including scattered showers, rising temperatures, and a potential for severe thunderstorms, according to WDIV meteorologist Ashlee Baracy.
The region is currently experiencing light showers due to a weak low-pressure system. While a complete washout is not expected, intermittent showers are forecast throughout the week.
Temperatures will be near seasonal today and tomorrow, hovering in the low to mid-70s. However, a warm-up is anticipated later in the week, with highs reaching the 80s on Thursday and Friday.
Scattered showers and the occasional thunderstorm are possible today and Wednesday afternoon. Thursday is expected to be partly sunny, warmer, and breezy, with drier conditions. The outlook turns more volatile heading into Friday.
“There is the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms before daybreak on Friday,” Baracy warned. Rain chances are expected to linger into Friday morning before the weather dries out in the afternoon. Temperatures will then drop back into the 70s for the weekend.
Residents are advised to stay informed and monitor weather updates throughout the week.
