Tue May 13 04:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Reds Acquire Connor Joe from Padres in Minor Trade
**HOUSTON, TX** – The Cincinnati Reds bolstered their outfield/first base depth Friday, acquiring Connor Joe from the San Diego Padres in exchange for minor league pitcher Andrew Moore and cash considerations. The trade was announced during the Reds’ 3-0 loss to the Houston Astros.
Joe, 32, has a career .241 batting average across six seasons with four different MLB teams. He struggled in limited playing time with the Padres this year, going hitless in nine at-bats. He spent most of the season at Triple-A El Paso. Joe had signed a one-year, $1 million deal with San Diego in February.
In return, the Padres received Moore, a right-handed pitcher who boasts a 4.15 ERA in 8⅔ innings with Double-A Chattanooga this season. The Reds originally acquired Moore from the Seattle Mariners as part of the Luis Castillo trade in 2022.
To make room for Joe on their 40-man roster, the Reds placed outfielder Tyler Callihan on the 60-day injured list. Callihan underwent surgery Tuesday for a broken left forearm and is expected to be sidelined for at least two months.
