Tue May 13 08:59:10 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Man Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Quadruple Murder
**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, KERALA – May 13, 2025** – Cadell Jeansen Raja, 37, was sentenced to life imprisonment on Tuesday for the brutal murders of his parents, sister, and aunt in Nanthancode in 2017. The Thiruvananthapuram Additional District and Sessions Court VI found Raja guilty on charges of murder, arson, and destruction of evidence.
The court also imposed a ₹15 lakh fine, to be paid as compensation to Raja’s uncle, the key witness in the case, should it be recovered. While the prosecution sought the death penalty, arguing the case was “rarest of rare” due to its brutality and the ongoing threat Raja posed, the defense pleaded for leniency citing his age and mental health. The judge, Vishnu K., ultimately handed down the life sentence.
