**Bengaluru, May 13, 2025** – Hyderabad-based artist Venkatesh Kandunoori is using his art to promote global unity. His six-month-long project, “The Tears of the Womb,” a large painting depicting a woman giving birth to Earth amidst symbols of global conflict and division, is garnering international attention.
The painting, which features religious flags, depictions of world leaders, and a gun pointed at the Earth’s core, serves as a powerful metaphor for humanity’s fragmented state. Kandunoori aims to highlight the destruction caused by conflict and the urgent need for unity.
To further his message, Kandunoori is collecting signatures from global cricketers and celebrities on the painting. He has already secured 185 signatures, including that of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, with a goal of 196 – representing the number of recognized countries. He recently collected signatures from players during IPL matches in Bengaluru and hopes to secure a signature from football star Lionel Messi.
Kandunoori’s initiative has garnered support from various individuals, including BCCI President Roger Binny and Rajeev Nannappaneni, CEO of Natco Pharma. He is assisted by a dedicated team who travel with him, collecting signatures and spreading his message of unity. The artist believes the project demonstrates the willingness of people worldwide to unite for a common cause.
