Tue May 13 01:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Chhattisgarh Braces for More Rain as Monsoon Approaches Early
**Raipur, Chhattisgarh (May 12, 2025)** – Chhattisgarh is experiencing light to moderate rainfall due to a western disturbance and other weather systems. Following heavy rains last week, the state is seeing fluctuating weather patterns, with thunderstorms and showers predicted for the next two days. Residents are advised to check weather updates before venturing out.
Last week’s heavy downpours, accompanied by strong winds (50-60 km/h), brought intense weather conditions. While providing relief from the heat, these conditions are expected to continue for the next two days. The meteorological department forecasts a 2-3°C rise in maximum temperatures in northern and central Chhattisgarh over the next few days. However, the ongoing showers will continue to provide respite from the scorching heat.
A significant update on the monsoon season has emerged: the southwest monsoon is predicted to reach the Kerala coast four days earlier than usual, on May 27th. This early arrival could bring earlier-than-expected rains to Chhattisgarh, potentially the earliest arrival in 16 years. Normally, the monsoon reaches Kerala on June 1st, Jagdalpur on June 13th, Raipur on June 16th, and Ambikapur on June 21st.
Maximum temperatures in Chhattisgarh reached 41°C in Bilaspur yesterday, while minimum temperatures were recorded at 21.4°C in Pendrarod. A temperature of 39°C is predicted for tomorrow.
