**Gadchiroli, Maharashtra –** In a major operation, Maharashtra police engaged in a two-hour gun battle with Maoist rebels in Gadchiroli district, near the Chhattisgarh border. The encounter, which took place across three locations on May 12th, resulted in the recovery of two weapons (an INSAS rifle and a single-shot rifle), ammunition, detonators, and other Maoist materials.
Acting on intelligence reports of a Maoist camp, approximately 200 C-60 commandos launched an operation on May 11th. The ensuing firefight led to the destruction of the Maoist camp. While no casualties were confirmed, police acknowledge the possibility of Maoist injuries or deaths. The seized items include a radio, sacks, and Maoist literature.
