Sun May 11 18:12:32 UTC 2025: ## India Claims Decisive Victory in Operation Sindoor, Warns Pakistan
**New Delhi, May 12, 2025** – India declared on Sunday that its military operation, codenamed “Sindoor,” has achieved its objectives, resulting in the elimination of over 100 Pakistani terrorists and significant military losses. Following days of intense cross-border fighting triggered by a terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22nd, a fragile ceasefire was agreed upon between India and Pakistan on Saturday evening. However, this ceasefire was repeatedly violated by Pakistan.
Director-General Military Operations (DGMO) Lt.-Gen. Rajiv Ghai stated that the operation, which is ongoing, targeted high-value terrorist operatives involved in past attacks such as the 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC-814 and the 2019 Pulwama attack. He confirmed the death of 35-40 Pakistani military personnel and emphasized that any further aggression would be met with decisive force.
The escalation began with a series of Pakistani drone, missile, and UCAV attacks on civilian and military targets across the western border. India’s air defenses successfully repelled most attacks, and the Indian armed forces retaliated with heavy strikes, including the devastation of eight Pakistani military bases on Saturday morning. This prompted Pakistan to seek a ceasefire.
While a temporary cessation of hostilities was agreed upon, Lt.-Gen. Ghai highlighted continued Pakistani ceasefire violations throughout Sunday, which were met with robust responses. He noted a scheduled further communication between the two DGMOs on Monday.
Vice-Admiral A.N. Pramod, Director-General Naval Operations, confirmed the Indian Navy’s proactive role, deploying its Carrier Battle Group and other assets to maintain combat readiness and monitor Pakistani naval activity.
Indian officials stressed that the message of reciprocal action – “If you hit, we hit and if you stop, we stop” – has been clearly conveyed to Pakistan. The operation continues with India maintaining a high state of alert.
