The awards, presented by the Academy – a healthcare training organization with a 30-year history – celebrated nurses and senior faculty from across the country, ahead of International Nurses Day on May 12th.
The award recipients were lauded for their consistent excellence in patient care, going beyond the monitoring of vital signs to provide crucial emotional support. D. Mahalingam, managing director of the Academy, emphasized the vital role nurses play as “the heartbeat of our healthcare system.” The awards ceremony featured V. Kanakasabai, former Dean of Madras Medical College, and R. Palaniyandi, former bureaucrat, as presenters.
