Canopies are notably absent at key junctions including Sterling Road, Thirumangalam Road, Teynampet, and Spencer Junction, leaving drivers exposed to the elements. A senior traffic police officer stated that the current installations are part of a pilot program, with further deployment contingent on public feedback. Meanwhile, commuters using the Sanatorium suburban train station are facing separate infrastructural challenges. Slow progress on elevator installation is causing significant inconvenience for senior citizens and women, while broken footpath tiles and steps on the footbridge add to the difficulties.
