Sun May 11 15:56:27 UTC 2025: ## India Accuses Pakistan of Ceasefire Violations Hours After Agreement

**NEW DELHI/ISLAMABAD, May 11, 2025** – Just hours after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire along their land, air, and sea borders, New Delhi accused Islamabad of violating the agreement. The ceasefire, reached on May 10th, was intended to de-escalate tensions following recent cross-border military actions.

India’s Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, late Sunday night called on Pakistan to address the alleged violations with “seriousness and responsibility.” While Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson maintained their commitment to the ceasefire and claimed their forces were acting with “responsibility and restraint,” they suggested communication at appropriate levels could resolve any implementation issues.

The sudden escalation follows a week of heightened tensions after the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terror launchpads within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response to a terror attack in Pahalgam. Pakistan’s Prime Minister, meanwhile, has reportedly advocated for a path of peaceful negotiations to resolve outstanding issues with India. The Indian government has stated that the peace deal was reached without external mediation. The situation remains tense, with the commitment of both sides to the ceasefire now in question.
