**Chandigarh, May 11, 2025** – Punjab Police announced the arrest of two individuals for allegedly engaging in espionage activities connected to a Pakistani official stationed at the High Commission in Delhi. According to Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, the arrests followed credible intelligence indicating one suspect leaked sensitive information about Indian Army movements to a handler based in Pakistan.
Further investigation revealed a second individual involved in facilitating the exchange of classified information for online payments. The DGP stated that both suspects were in frequent contact with the handler and were responsible for funneling funds to other local operatives. Authorities recovered two mobile phones and have registered a First Information Report (FIR).
DGP Yadav emphasized that this operation represents a significant blow to cross-border espionage networks and underscores India’s dedication to national security.
