**Philadelphia, PA –** Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, the reigning world record holder in the women’s 400m hurdles, will make her professional 100m flat sprint debut at the Grand Slam Track event in Philadelphia on May 31st. The announcement comes as the 25-year-old American continues her impressive Grand Slam Track campaign, having already secured a $100,000 bonus by winning the long hurdles group in the series’ first two legs.

McLaughlin-Levrone, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and 2022 World Champion in the 400m hurdles, will compete in the “short hurdles group” in Philadelphia, which includes both the 100m hurdles and the 100m flat sprint. While she boasts a collegiate 100m time of 11.07 seconds from 2018, her focus has primarily been on the hurdles. Her last 100m hurdles race was in May 2024, with a personal best of 12.65 seconds. She will race the 100m hurdles on May 30th before tackling the flat 100m the following day.

The Philadelphia event is the third of four in the inaugural Grand Slam Track series, created by former U.S. sprinting legend Michael Johnson. The series concludes in Los Angeles from June 27th-29th.
