AMRITSAR, INDIA – May 6, 2025 – Amritsar traffic police conducted a major crackdown on traffic violations across the city today, issuing numerous online fines for offences such as illegal parking, riding without helmets, and driving without licenses. The operation, conducted under the direction of Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, targeted areas experiencing significant traffic congestion, including Hall Bazaar and Sheranwala Gate.

Inspector Amarjit Singh, leading a team in Hall Bazaar, issued online challans to two-wheeler drivers parked beyond the yellow lines. Simultaneously, at Sheranwala Gate, Inspector Jaspal Singh’s team from Traffic Zone 3 conducted vehicle checks and issued challans for similar violations. Both inspectors emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic rules and highlighted the ongoing campaign to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion.

Furthermore, warnings were issued to shopkeepers illegally occupying footpaths and roads. Continued violations will result in joint action by the traffic police and the Municipal Corporation, according to officials.
