Sun May 11 06:00:00 UTC 2025: ## India and Pakistan Agree to Ceasefire, but Violations Reported
**NEW DELHI** – India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire along their disputed border on Saturday, following a phone call between the two countries’ Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs). The agreement, announced by Indian Foreign Secretary Vikaram Misri, came into effect at 5 PM local time.
However, reports indicate that the ceasefire was violated by Pakistani forces within hours of its implementation.
Further talks between the DGMOs are scheduled for Monday at 12 PM via hotline to discuss the continuation of the ceasefire and de-escalation of tensions along the border. Key issues to be addressed include maintaining the ceasefire and reducing the volatile atmosphere. The initial agreement was reached after the Pakistani DGMO contacted their Indian counterpart at 3:35 PM on Saturday proposing the ceasefire.
