Sun May 11 06:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Sky News Investigation Links Pakistan Mosque Bombing to Lashkar-e-Taiba
**ISLAMABAD** – A Sky News investigation has linked the recent Indian military operation in Muridke, Pakistan, which resulted in the destruction of the Markaz Tayyaba mosque, to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a designated terrorist organization. The investigation, which analyzed social media posts, videos, and comments from platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Google, revealed significant evidence connecting the mosque to LeT and other militant groups.
Sky News researchers found numerous videos and photos showing individuals affiliated with LeT, particularly those associated with the “313” group – a known LeT faction – in and around Markaz Tayyaba. Some videos showed armed individuals, children handling weapons, and even footage of the damaged building after the Indian strike, all bearing related hashtags and captions. Geolocation data further corroborated the links.
Muskaan Sangwan of the Terrorism Research & Analysis Consortium (TRAC) confirmed that Brigade 313 is an Al-Qaeda affiliate in Pakistan, operating under the umbrella of several terrorist organizations, including LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and others. The group’s heavy use of TikTok for recruitment was also highlighted.
Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, dismissed the Sky News findings, stating he wouldn’t consider the TikTok videos credible evidence.
Western media outlets are reporting that Markaz Tayyaba served as a key hub for various militant groups. Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent has condemned the Indian operation, further fueling the controversy. Experts say the militants’ active social media presence points to ongoing recruitment efforts. The investigation underscores the challenges in combating terrorism and the role of social media in facilitating extremist activities.
