Sun May 11 09:16:53 UTC 2025: ## India Launches Cross-Border Strikes, Claims Success in Operation Sindoor
**New Delhi, May 11, 2025** – India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced today that Operation Sindoor, a series of retaliatory strikes against Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, has successfully targeted seven terrorist infrastructures within Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir. The operation, launched on May 7th, involved multiple cross-border strikes against military bases, with Mr. Singh claiming that even Rawalpindi, the location of Pakistan’s army headquarters, felt the impact.
Mr. Singh lauded the Indian military’s courage and restraint, emphasizing that while military targets were engaged, civilian areas were avoided. He contrasted this with what he described as Pakistan’s targeting of Indian civilian areas and places of worship. Operation Sindoor, he stated, was not merely a military action but a demonstration of India’s resolve to combat terrorism.
The announcement comes after India and Pakistan reached an agreement on Saturday to cease all military actions across land, air, and sea. Mr. Singh highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to taking decisive action against terrorism on both sides of the border. The operation, he explained, was a response to the loss of innocent lives in the Pahalgam attack.
The Defence Minister’s statements were made during the virtual inauguration of a BrahMos production unit in Lucknow and the release of his new book, “Brahmand World Defence Update 2025”.
