KANSAS CITY, MO – May 10, 2025 – The Kansas City Current, currently atop the NWSL standings, will look to rebound from recent losses when they host Bay FC at CPKC Stadium this Mother’s Day, May 11th. The match, originally scheduled for noon CT, has been moved to 11:50 a.m. CT and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

The Current, boasting a 5-2-0 record, are aiming for a victory against a Bay FC team currently sitting 10th in the league. Kansas City holds a dominant record against Bay FC, having won both matchups last season, including a 1-0 victory in October 2024 where Temwa Chawinga set a new NWSL record for goals in a season. Chawinga, the 2024 NWSL MVP and Golden Boot winner, will be a key player to watch, as she aims to score in all three matches against Bay FC this season. Midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo is also one assist away from tying the NWSL regular season assist record.

The match will be a special Mother’s Day celebration at CPKC Stadium, with giveaways for the first 5,000 fans courtesy of presenting sponsor Helzberg. However, due to ongoing KC Streetcar construction, fans are urged to arrive early and utilize the provided shuttle service from 7th & Main, as on-site parking is sold out.

Several players are listed as either out or questionable due to injury, including star forward Temwa Chawinga. Fans can also look forward to the performances of Bia Zaneratto for KC and Karlie Lema for Bay FC, both expected to play key roles in the match. The game promises to be a captivating encounter between a league-leading team and a striving challenger.
