**Chennai, May 11, 2025** – A 41-year-old dentist, Harish Venkateshwaran, has been arrested by Valasaravakkam Police for allegedly defrauding a 27-year-old woman, S. Aishwarya, of Rs 27 lakh. Aishwarya, a resident of Guduvanchery, invested in Venkateshwaran’s clinic expansion, receiving a promise of high returns. She took out a loan of Rs 40.69 lakh and gave the money to Venkateshwaran and his wife, Veena. While they initially made payments of Rs one lakh per month for 13 months, they subsequently defaulted, leading to the loss of Rs 27 lakh for Aishwarya. Police confirmed Venkateshwaran has a prior criminal record. The investigation is ongoing.
