Sun May 11 10:03:45 UTC 2025: ## Kerala’s Ruling Party Confident of Third Term Despite Opposition Efforts

**Kozhikode, May 11, 2025** – The Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala is confident of securing a third consecutive term in the 2026 Assembly elections, according to LDF convener T.P. Ramakrishnan. Ramakrishnan’s statement follows recent comments by outgoing Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president K. Sudhakaran, who vowed to remove Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan from power.

Ramakrishnan highlighted the LDF’s previous electoral successes, emphasizing the party’s strong performance in both 2016 and 2021. He dismissed the recent leadership change within the KPCC, asserting that the Congress is increasingly isolated from the public. He further accused the United Democratic Front (UDF) of seeking support from communal organizations, including the BJP and allegedly attempting to ally with the Jamaat-e-Islami.

The LDF plans to resume its district-level rallies, postponed due to recent border tensions between India and Pakistan. Chief Minister Vijayan will address a rally in Kozhikode on May 13th, with other rallies scheduled to conclude by May 22nd. Ramakrishnan expressed optimism about the continuation of the ceasefire.
