**Los Angeles, CA –** Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have announced the title and release date for the next installment in the MonsterVerse franchise: *Godzilla x Kong: Supernova*, slated for a March 26, 2027 theatrical release. Production has officially begun on the sixth film in the series, which follows the success of *Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire*.
Director Grant Sputore (*I Am Mother*) will helm *Supernova*, with a script by David Callaham and Michael Lloyd Green. The star-studded cast includes Dan Stevens (reprising his role from *The New Empire*), Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, Matthew Modine, Delroy Lindo, Alycia Debnam-Carey, and Sam Neill.
Plot details remain scarce, but the film will introduce new human characters as Godzilla and Kong confront a world-ending threat. Mary Parent and Thomas Tull will produce.
The announcement comes on the heels of *The New Empire*’s impressive $570 million global box office success and the renewal of the Apple TV+ series *Monarch: Legacy of Monsters* for a second season. The MonsterVerse continues to expand its reach across film and television.
