**Cleveland, OH** – The Cleveland Browns’ 2025 rookie minicamp got underway on May 9th at CrossCountry Mortgage Campus, with Head Coach Kevin Stefanski expressing his satisfaction with the first day’s performance. “Really good first day with these guys,” Stefanski commented, highlighting the rookies’ strong work ethic.
The day’s activities included individual position drills, focusing on fundamental techniques and refining skills. Running backs Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson competed in footwork drills, while defensive linemen engaged in sled drills under the guidance of Coach Jacques Cesaire. Quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel received ample reps, showcasing their abilities during individual drills and both 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 team sessions. Notable connections were made between Gabriel and WR Gage Larvadain, and Sanders and TE Harold Fannin Jr., including a touchdown pass from Gabriel to Fannin in red zone drills.
Stefanski emphasized the importance of individual drills, stating, “They always want more. So, this is a great opportunity…to have individual time…to be able to teach our techniques.” He also highlighted the ongoing quarterback competition between Sanders and Gabriel, noting that the team is evaluating both players comprehensively, both on and off the field. While acknowledging their pre-draft familiarity with both quarterbacks, Stefanski praised their performance, stating, “I thought both guys did a really nice job.” The minicamp will continue to provide opportunities to assess their progress before the team reconvenes with veteran players.
