Sun May 11 17:53:58 UTC 2025: ## Rajasthan on High Alert After Drone Sightings Following India-Pakistan Ceasefire

**JAIPUR, Rajasthan, May 11, 2025** – A precautionary blackout was enforced across several districts in western Rajasthan on Sunday night following the sighting of suspected Pakistani drones in Barmer district. The incident occurred just one day after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire along their shared border.

Authorities, including Barmer Collector Tina Dabi, used social media to alert residents to the drone activity, urging them to stay indoors and switch off lights. While initial reports suggested a drone had been shot down, the district administration later denied these claims. Debris from a drone was later found in Bhurtiya village. In Sriganganagar and Anupgarh, Indian defense forces neutralized objects in the air.

The blackout, a precautionary measure, also affected Jaisalmer and Sriganganagar. Normal activities resumed in some areas, with markets reopening on Sunday. However, schools and colleges in Jodhpur will remain closed on Monday, and examinations have been postponed. Flight operations from Jodhpur, Kishangarh, and Bikaner airports remain suspended, while train services from Jaisalmer and Barmer have resumed after earlier cancellations and rescheduling.

The situation highlights the fragility of the newly agreed-upon ceasefire and underscores ongoing security concerns along the India-Pakistan border. While the alert remains in effect, authorities stressed the importance of dismissing unverified reports circulating on social media.
