NEW DELHI – Former US President Donald Trump has again offered to mediate the Kashmir conflict between India and Pakistan, following a recently announced ceasefire between the two nations. In a post on his Truth Social media platform, Trump expressed pride in the ceasefire, stating that the leaders of both countries understood the devastating consequences of continued conflict. He further stated that the US played a role in facilitating this “historic decision” and expressed willingness to deepen trade relations with both nations.
Trump explicitly offered his assistance in finding a resolution to the Kashmir issue, stating he would work with both India and Pakistan to achieve a peaceful settlement. While Trump’s post did not detail the nature of US involvement in the ceasefire, India’s official announcement made no mention of Trump’s role.
This is not the first time Trump has offered mediation on Kashmir. During his first term, he attempted to facilitate discussions between the Indian and Pakistani prime ministers, but India politely declined third-party intervention.
