Sun May 11 07:36:33 UTC 2025: ## Sibal Demands All-Party Meeting, Special Parliament Session After India-Pakistan Ceasefire

**New Delhi, May 11, 2025** – Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal today demanded an all-party meeting and a special session of Parliament following the India-Pakistan ceasefire announced on Saturday. He urged all political parties to boycott the meeting unless Prime Minister Narendra Modi guarantees his attendance.

Sibal’s call comes amidst questions surrounding the circumstances of the ceasefire, which saw intense cross-border military actions preceding a sudden agreement to halt hostilities. He pointed to US President Donald Trump’s social media announcement claiming US involvement and subsequent statements from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggesting secret negotiations, demanding transparency from the Indian government. The involvement of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in talks with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was also mentioned.

Sibal expressed concern over Prime Minister Modi’s absence from previous all-party meetings following national security incidents, citing the Pahalgam terror attack as an example. He contrasted this with his belief that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would have acted differently.

While commending the armed forces’ response to Pakistan’s actions, Sibal stressed the need for parliamentary scrutiny of the events leading to the ceasefire. He argued that MPs cannot wait until the Monsoon session for crucial details. The MP emphasized that this is not a time for criticism, but rather for a unified and transparent approach to the situation.
