**VISAKHAPATNAM, INDIA (May 11, 2025)** – In a bid to combat the intense summer heat, traffic police officers in Visakhapatnam have received a novel piece of equipment: air-conditioned helmets. Thirty helmets, provided by a Noida-based company as a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, were distributed on Saturday.
Police Commissioner Shankabratha Bagchi personally oversaw the distribution, highlighting that this is a first for Andhra Pradesh. The helmets, weighing 740 grams each, utilize Active Cooling technology and are made from Poly Propylene Co-polymer material. A full charge provides approximately eight hours of use.
In addition to the new helmets, the police department has also distributed 220 cool jackets, with another 40 slated for distribution in the coming days. This initiative aims to provide much-needed relief to officers working outdoors during the scorching summer months.
