**New Delhi, May 10, 2025** – The Delhi Assembly is set to address the issue of private school fees during its upcoming Budget Session, commencing May 13th. The government will table the Delhi School Education Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees Bill, 2025, aiming to curb illegal fee hikes and harassment of students.
The Bill, approved by the Cabinet on April 29th, proposes significant penalties and registration cancellation for schools violating the regulations. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the upcoming session specifically to pass this crucial legislation. This follows the first Budget Session under Ms. Gupta’s government, which saw the presentation of a Rs. 1-lakh-crore budget in March.
