**Mangaluru, May 10, 2025** – Annapurna Shenoy, a third-year Electronics and Communication Engineering student at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM) in Bantakal, has been named an IEEE STEM Champion. This prestigious global award, given by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), recognizes outstanding contributions to pre-university STEM education.
Shenoy was selected from a pool of 135 global applicants, becoming one of only 28 volunteers to receive the honor. Her achievement represents a significant accomplishment for both SMVITM and the wider region.
The IEEE STEM Champion Program highlights volunteers who actively engage in STEM outreach, working with schools, educators, and students to foster interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. As a champion, Shenoy will leverage global resources, organize local STEM programs, and inspire future innovators.
