**Hubballi, Karnataka, May 10, 2025** – Six individuals have been arrested in Belagavi district, Karnataka, for the brutal murder of a 16-year-old boy who attempted to steal from a furniture shop. The deceased, identified as Vikas Shivadas Koshti, was found dead on May 1st in a decomposed state. Police, after initially conducting the funeral due to the lack of claimants, launched an investigation.
The investigation led to the arrest of six suspects following a tip about a youth being severely beaten near Haliyal Road. Confessions from one of the accused, 36-year-old Abdul Bari Mulla, revealed the details of the crime. The accused, including Mulla, Zuber Ahmed Mohammed Akram (34), Bilal Ahmed Muqtar Ahmed Moulvi (25), Hazrat Bilal Ahmed Nalband (28), Fayum Musa Nalband (27), and Mahesh Sanjay Kale (36), allegedly caught Koshti attempting to steal from the Nalband furniture shop.
They subsequently took Koshti to a shed where he was severely beaten. After an unsuccessful attempt to recover the stolen goods, the beating continued, ultimately resulting in Koshti’s death. All six suspects are now in custody facing charges for murder. The incident has sparked outrage in the local community.
