Sat May 10 13:20:32 UTC 2025: ## Teacher Recruitment Delays in Kalyana Karnataka Region Due to Reservation Issues
**Kalaburagi, Karnataka, May 10, 2025** – The recruitment of 5,530 teachers for the Kalyana Karnataka region has been delayed due to issues related to the redistribution of reservations within Scheduled Castes communities, according to Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Patil stated that the process will resume once a survey on internal reservations is completed.
In the interim, guest teachers have been appointed to address the immediate shortage, which has been linked to the poor performance of Kalyana Karnataka districts in recent SSLC examinations.
Patil also addressed proposals for a dedicated engineering wing under the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) to expedite development projects. He rejected this proposal, suggesting instead that existing infrastructure and departments, such as Public Works and Rural Development, be better coordinated to achieve the same goal. The minister emphasized the need for improved collaboration among existing departments to accelerate development work in the region. The press conference was attended by several officials, including Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre and KKRDB Chairman Ajay Singh.
