Sat May 10 04:10:00 UTC 2025: ## India Foils Multiple Drone Attacks from Pakistan, Launches Retaliation

**New Delhi, India** – India has successfully thwarted a series of drone attacks launched by Pakistan over the past three nights, according to government sources. The attacks, which began following “Operation Sindur,” targeted numerous locations across northern and western India, including Srinagar Airport.

On Friday night alone, Indian forces intercepted drone attacks aimed at 26 locations, ranging from Baramulla in northern Kashmir to Bhuj in Gujarat. The government claims Pakistan launched 300-400 drones from various points, including Leh and Sir Creek, targeting Indian military installations on Thursday night. While many attacks were thwarted, explosions were reported in parts of Jammu and South Kashmir.

The repeated incursions caused widespread disruption and fear in border regions. Curfews were implemented in several areas, with authorities urging residents to switch off their lights as a precaution. Heavy cross-border shelling was also reported in the Suchetgarh and Ramgarh sectors along the International Border in Jammu and Samba districts.

In response to the attacks, India launched retaliatory strikes targeting four Pakistani airbases. Debris from a large missile fired by Pakistan was later found in Barmer, Rajasthan.

The escalating tensions led to the suspension of helicopter services to Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand due to security concerns.

The death of Raj Kumar Thapa, Additional District Development Commissioner, in Rajouri following Pakistani shelling on Saturday morning, highlights the civilian casualties resulting from the conflict.

India has dismissed Pakistani claims of destroying Indian S-400 systems and airfields in Suratgarh and Sirsa as disinformation. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan briefed Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on the situation. The ongoing attacks mark a significant escalation in tensions between the two nations.
