Sat May 10 14:00:00 UTC 2025: **Ford Raises Prices on Mexican-Made Vehicles Amidst Import Tariffs**

**DETROIT** – Ford Motor Company announced price increases of up to $2,000 on three models imported from Mexico, just days after executives downplayed expectations of significant industry-wide price hikes. The increase, affecting the Mustang Mach-E, Maverick pickup truck, and Bronco Sport SUV, will apply to vehicles built after May 2nd.

The automaker cited a combination of typical mid-year pricing adjustments and newly imposed tariffs on imported vehicles as the reason for the increase. While a 25% tariff on imported vehicles went into effect April 3rd, Ford stated they haven’t passed on the full cost to consumers. The price hike will range from $600 to $2,000 depending on vehicle features and won’t affect vehicles already in dealerships.

These three models represented approximately 17% of Ford’s first-quarter US sales. Although the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) is increasing, the final price paid by consumers will depend on individual negotiations with dealerships.

The announcement contradicts recent statements by Ford CFO Sherry House who predicted only a 1% to 1.5% increase in industry pricing due to tariffs in the second half of the year. Ford expects the tariffs to cost the company $1.5 billion in 2024. Despite the price increase, Ford plans to continue offering its employee pricing program through July 4th.
