Sat May 10 16:28:15 UTC 2025: ## Ceasefire Violated: Drones, Explosions Rock India After Peace Announcement

**Srinagar/Kutch, India (May 10, 2025)** – A fragile ceasefire between India and Pakistan, announced just hours earlier by both governments and US President Donald Trump, crumbled tonight amidst reports of drone attacks and shelling. The escalating situation led to a series of explosions in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, and the sighting of multiple drones in Kutch, Gujarat.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah confirmed hearing explosions in Srinagar, later posting a video showing what he described as air defense units engaging incoming drones. “This is no ceasefire,” he stated on X (formerly Twitter). Shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) and explosions in Srinagar reportedly ceased by 9:52 PM.

The unrest extended beyond Kashmir. Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi reported multiple drone sightings in the Kutch district, announcing an immediate city-wide blackout as a precautionary measure. He urged residents to remain calm and stay indoors.

The violence resulted in casualties. The Border Security Force (BSF) announced the death of Sub-Inspector Md Imteyaz during cross-border firing in the RS Pura area of Jammu.

While officials in Ludhiana and Patiala assured the public there was no immediate threat, Amritsar’s District Commissioner issued a public message preparing residents for a potential blackout, advising them to stay indoors as a precautionary measure. The message emphasized this was a routine precaution and urged against panic. The situation remains tense as authorities across several states monitor developments.
